Picturesque Villages
The Black and White Village Trail
A wonderful tour of our local black and white timbered, unspoilt villages, each known for different attractions. Eardisland is an Award-winning “Prettiest Village”; Weobley has an extraordinary variety of medieval buildings; don’t miss the Market Square and detached Church bell tower in Pembridge; Eardisley has a famous giant oak tree; Dilwyn has a village green surrounded by cottages. Add Kinnersley and Sarnesfield, Lyonshall and Kingsland – together with the two market towns of Kington and Leominster – and you have the key elements of the now famous Black and White Village Trail.

Hereford City
The heart of Herefordshire
The small city of Hereford has a rich heritage dating back to Roman times. Known for its stunning cathedral, Hereford is famously home to the Mappa Mundi. This historically very significant medieval map offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of the 14th century. The Chained Library in the Cathedral contains manuscripts dating back to the 8th Century. The cathedral is architecturally impressive, with its Norman structure and serene cloisters. The Hereford Cider Museum brings life to the area’s long history of cider-making. The city is home to much creativity, as seen in its markets, independent shops and restaurants. Hereford and its surroundings make an eclectic mix of history, culture, and nature – a delightful area to explore.
